Based on the decisions made following internal stakeholder meetings with the Occupational Health and Safety Program of our university, a seminar on occupational safety in fieldwork was organized for the students of the Mapping and Cadastre Program.
The seminar, conducted by Dr. Lecturer Şenol Yavuz, Head of the Property Protection and Security Department and a Class A Occupational Safety Specialist, aimed to raise awareness about potential risks that may arise during field studies and promote safe working practices.
During the seminar, detailed information was shared about possible hazards encountered in mapping and cadastre activities, necessary safety precautions, and relevant occupational safety regulations. Students were informed about safe behavior in the field, the proper use of personal protective equipment, and the steps to take in emergency situations.
The interactive session provided students with the opportunity to ask questions and emphasized the critical importance of safety awareness in their professional careers.
It was noted that such training sessions for Mapping and Cadastre Program students will continue, underlining the message that occupational health and safety should remain a top priority in every field of work.
